The Story of Woody and Annie

November 24, 2000, the wedding of the Woody and Annie. But what led up to that day? How about years of all sorts of things. Where shall the story begin? how about the beginning? hmmm... not a bad idea.. ok... let's start with:

Chapter One... the Beginning

End of the year of 1993, Annie was a sysop for a small local BBS in town called 'Blazing Bytes'. It was a 16 line TBBS chat room. And as all chat rooms, regulars appeared frequently. Friendships were made and are still, to this day, steadfast. That is where Woody and Annie met.... along with others who now frequent RS. Like Spudacus, Drdoom, Rollandrock, and Beany, just to name a few. Anyway, Woody and Annie had lots in common, so they became friends right off the bat! They chatted every morning for months. Since the chat room was local to everyone who visited, they had what they call 'meets' every week, so everyone could get to meet in person. This was really great! Not such a long distance as the Internet chatfests are (or as costly).

One Friday night, Woody and Annie met, eyes held, and ... well, and nothing... cuz the Woody was married. So they still remained friends, but knew they had a connection deep down inside. The more they met at these meets, the closer friends they became till they realized the big 'no no'... they were indeed heading towards falling in love. As much as they didn't want to, some things just happen and can't be controlled.

So, for a while, they played the game... and became deeper into each other till it became quite apparent that they were deep in love... but.... no... no... no good. You see, Woody had a little boy to think about. Yes, he was unhappy at home, that wasn't the problem, but taking care of his son and doing right by his son was very important to him. Time to do something... but what?

Chapter Two... the Middle

October 1996, Woody had to make a decision.... be happy himself or try to make a happy home for his son with his son's mother. He chose the latter. Life goes on...

That was a very difficult decision for Woody because he knew where his heart was... But he wanted to be sure he did all the right things for his son.

Woody and Annie parted... both very unhappy, but both had to live with Woody's decision.

Woody went back to his old life... spending more time with his son... working a lot... stopped chatting, and so on.

Annie went off and started another life... still single... got a boyfriend, traveled... tried to put the pieces back in her life.

But they both knew where their hearts were..... with each other... buried deep inside one another.

Big sighs....... yes, and life continued on... good and bad but with an empty space reserved for one another... sometime... someplace...

2 years go by........................................

Chapter Three... the End?

Things don't work out with Annie and her boyfriend... they parted.

Annie gets a phone call one night in mid-December 1998.... guess who? It was Woody!!! Calling to say he's moved out... and calling Annie... "got any plans for Saturday Night?" he says. Annie practically jumped thru the phone!!

OMG!!! Is it really YOU?? What happened?? You left?? OMG!!

Those were Annie's sentiments... along with other things to be sure!!

They started dating very steadily. They found they never stopped thinking about each other all through those years... The feelings were too deep... Woody did say before he left Annie, "If I ever leave, you will be the first person I call!" And he did and she was!

There have been a lot of ups and downs in 1999, and the beginning of the year 2000, but all in all they are a very happy twosome! Woody and his son moved in with Annie in October of 1999, to continue a very thriving and healthy relationship for all three.

In August of 2000, during the Mslilapalooza II Chatfest, Woody's band performed live on the Rock Solid stream. After they finished, Woody proposed marriage to Annie over the airwaves! To put it mildly, this was the first time Annie was EVER rendered SPEECHLESS! And how appropriate, with all the family of chatters there! (She said YES, of course!)

They set the date and continued on! Life is GOOD!

Chapter Four... the Future

November 24, 2000, on the Island of Santa Catalina, Woody and Annie got married. Just a small intimate ceremony, but filled with love and knowledge of continuing future happiness! Even Annie's bout with the flu ending her in the hospital didn't stop this marriage from taking place!

They still all live together now, Woody, his son, and Annie. Woody and Annie both own Rock Solid Live Music and Chat. And how appropriate for they owe their Life and Happiness to the essence of the wonders of 'chat'!

Never let it be said that dreams don't come true... you will have a VERY hard time convincing Woody and Annie of that!
